typing the first letter of the last name and pressing enter

Something has changed and I'm not sure what it is. In the past, if the last name was a repeat of the previous record, I could just type the first letter and hit enter and it would copy the name in from the previous record. Today, if I try to do that, it just types the first letter and leaves the rest blank. I'm sure it is just a setting but I don't know what it is.

Thanks for the help!

Let us try the following steps to see if there is any difference.

Please try to clear FamilySearch cookies:

If you clear all cookies, it can affect your access to other websites. Try these steps first:

    1. .Make sure you use a supported Internet browser, and try changing your browser: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or safary if MAC.
    2. Delete just the cookies that FamilySearch uses.
      1. Go to https://FamilySearch.org/cookies.
      2. When the message Reset your cookies? appears, click Yes.
    3. If the problems still occur, clear all of your temporary files and cookie. Then restart your computer. Please search the web for instructions for your specific browser.
    4. Are you using a tablet, or computer desktop, are you using a monitor attached to your device?
    5. How old is your device. Are you using a MAC or a Windows?
    6. If you have another device, can you try indexing the project in another device and see if that makes any difference.
    7. Once you have cleared cookies, changed de browser, refresh the page, then open Indexing, open the project, go to Batch>Settings> clic on Autocomplete.

Please, let us know if these steps solve the problem.

Try clicking Batch>Settings>Autocomplete. You should see something like this:

You can choose to turn on for all Fields or just what the Project defaults are. But be aware that there have been some recent problems with this feature not working even if property selected. Please let this forum know if this works for you or if you still have problems.

The auto-repeat selection didn't work. The batch I am working on is US—City and Business Directories, 1749–1990 [Part C][M34D-WHX], but it is not working on the last 5 batches I have been working on. Please fix this, it speeds up the work so much!

I fixed it by changing my browser from Microsoft edge to Google Chrome. There was obviously something in Microsoft edge that was holding that down and I didn’t want to clear everything out so I just changed my browser. Thank you for your help!

I've tried Chrome and MS Edge and no success. This is frustrating as it really slows things down especially when you are used to doing this. I did try to clear the cache, etc. and still no luck.

    @ DCriddle

Sorry for the problem slows down your work. Is the  Autocomplete no working properly? and you said you have cleared cookies, changed browsers?

Can you try Mozilla Firefox, did you clear your browsers cookies -or history?

    1. If the problems still occur, clear all of your temporary files and cookie. Then restart your computer. Please search the web for instructions for your specific browser.
    2. Are you using a tablet, or computer desktop, are you using a monitor attached to your device?
    3. How old is your device. Are you using a MAC or a Windows?
    4. If you have another device, can you try indexing the project in another device and see if that makes any difference. Can you try indexing other project and see if the problem persist.
    5. Once you have cleared cookies, changed de browser, refresh the page, then open Indexing, open the project, go to Batch>Settings> clic on Autocomplete.

Can you please share your batch code of the project your are working on?

Can you give us a bit details of the problem.
