Problem with indexing batch M349-SMW
Sent the batch back someone had done lots of work on it but they didn't index it correctly. You were suppose to index a person and freeman, I was just adding the freeman then discovered that the indexer before me had a separate list of freeman at the end. I was to 39 when I realized that everything was messed up. There was a persons name next that I couldn't even locate. I gave up & sent it back.
Is there someone we are suppose to contact with problems with batches like what I encountered?

I could not access the Project Instructions. When you find a batch that has not been indexed correctly and send it back, it will be reviewed and reindexed if necessary. Thank you for your dedication to the Indexing program.

When one chooses "Reindex Batch", it goes back into the system and is picked up by another indexer for reindexing. Unless you choose to delete all the indexed data, the next indexer will see the data previously indexed. You can also choose to delete the indexed data. If you simply choose to "Return Batch", it goes to another reviewer and any changes you made are not saved.
If you really feel like you want to advise FamilySearch there is a problem with a batch and a person needs some extra training, there is a form to use called "Reasons to Reindex Batch" where you can detail the problems by clicking on various reasons.
To get the form, with the batch open, Click on the Help Tab, Click on Labs from the drop down menu. You will find the instructions on how to activate the form and return the batch for reindexing. Usually once you activate this lab it will always be available. Sometimes it gets lost though and you have to reactivate it.
@John Empoliti is really great at explaining this feature! I'm sure he will chime in soon. Please and Thank You, John.

I have never seen Reindex Batch which sounds like what I needed.
So my time yesterday was wasted because I used Return Batch so the corrections I made were not saved.
I needed the form Reasons to Reindex Batch form also.
Thank you for the great information!
