Missing spouse

In the last two weeks a relationship has disappeared from my wife's family tree. This means she can not link to generations earlier than this. Jean Baird (LQTX-MLY) was married to Robert Speirs (LQT6-1N8) and they had a daughter Elisabeth Spiers (KP9T-BHK). Note, the daughter's Family Name is spelled differently to her father's. Elisabeth and her husband Archibald Sinclair are my wife's ancestors - prior to our marriage she was a Sinclair. A screenshot taken recently shows the relationship (marriage) of Jean Baird and Robert Speirs has disappeared. Jean Baird now has no spouse and therefore, his line of the tree has disappeared.

It may be that someone has needed to correct something, has accidentally removed the spouse or I am just not able to view him and his ancestors. Can you point me to where/how I can find out what's going on. I will attach two screen shots to show the tree as it appeared two weeks ago (upper photo) and now (the lower photo). . The pics are fuzzy but the ID numbers are given above. The ID numbers for Jean Baird, her daughter, Elisabeth, and her parents are consistent on both pics.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi, I had a look at Jean Baird (LQTX-MLY) and her missing husband, if you look under Latest Changes on the right hand side you can see that Robert Speirs (LQT6-1N8) was deleted from the relationship on july 14th by another contributor, they do explain why they deleted him, but mistakes do happen.

You can add Robert back to Jean as a spouse by adding him by him by his PI number (LQT6-1N8).

You may also want to private message the other contributor by clicking on their name, and talk to them about this line of the tree etc. In Life sketch you can also leave a statement on why the information is correct.

A lot of time other with good intentions do make mistakes and collaborating with each other can greatly help both parties.

the above article will give you lots more information on what to do to collaborate and what you can do to help others not make incorrect changes.

Looking at the change log for LQT6-1N8 Robert Speirs, the other contributor explained why they detached him from LQTX-MLY Jean Baird: some children attached to Jane Baird had a father named George.

I just checked, and none of the children now attached to LQTX-MLY have a father other than Robert. So it appears safe to simply re-attach LQT6-1N8 to LQTX-MLY.

It looks like the other contributor detached Robert from Jean and her children by mistake. Just fix it, and if the other contributor detaches him again, then ask that contributor why.
