Stop Playing Games!
I received an email from you saying I have a pioneer ancestor. Her name, date of birth and death were given. So, I log in to my account and instead of the information on this person I am asked to take a quiz asking what I would do if I were a pioneer. ? I play along, thinking I will FINALLY see my mystery ancestor. No such luck. I am paired with a random, unrelated person from the past because we were both 'creative.
Stop with the Facebook games and take us seriously. I still don't know how I relate to the woman and it appears you aren't going to tell me either.
So disappointed in this site.

I know exactly what you mean.
How to turn off those notifications: on the web, in the top right corner your name is a menu. Go to Settings: Notifications and turn off Discoveries about My Ancestors.
Re your mystery ancestor, if you would like fresh eyes to take a look, I would be happy to do that for you. Send me a message with the PID of the top of your tree.

Once again, you are so far 'off base' ...
'FamilySearch' is NOT desperate; and, DOES NOT resort to 'gimmicks' for Users/Patrons to access.
The "Campaigns", by 'FamilySearch', are principally to engage the Members of the Church, to participate, in the tenets of the Church; but, do not differentiate whether a User/Patron is a Member of the Church or not.
ANY User/Patron, CAN very SIMPLY "Disable" these 'E-mail' "Notifications", regarding the "Campaigns", if they so desire, in their "Settings" in 'FamilySearch'.
IF, you are NOT already aware; THEN, please understand that:
▬ 'FamilySearch' was created by the Church.
.... [ Originally for Members of the Church; but, was made available to ALL ... ]
▬ The Church (and, 'FamilySearch') is NOT a "Commercial' Website
.... [ 'FamilySearch' is FREE to ALL ... ]
'FamilySearch' exists for the Members of the Church.
NOT desperate ...
NO 'gimmicks' ...
Just FREE to All.

Such is Life ...
But, over the YEARS, my 'Style' (and, in fact, my 'Verbosity') has HELPED; and, been appreciated by MANY ...
[ And, they have, acknowledged; and, thank me, for such ... ]
It does not bother me, about those that DO NOT like my 'Style' ...
[ I do not care for the 'intellectuals', I care more for the 'lowly' Users/Patrons ... ]
This "Community.FamilySearch" Forum was ORIGINALLY established as ...
User/Patrons, HELPING / ASSITING, Users/Patrons ...
I am just happy to be helping/assisting where I can ...
