Liberia Census Birthplace unavailable
Hello, I am indexing and reviewing the LIberian Census. I am currently reviewing Part K and have come across several entries that recorded their birthplace as 54. This is not one of the options in the drop down menu, and if I try to type it in as 54, it defaults to something else. Is it possible for 54 to be added so that these records can be accurately indexed?

I'm having the same problem. It's obviously a technical error. I'm waiting for it to be corrected. Once rectified, you should be able to complete the batch. What I'm doing is just moving on to the next batch and saving the ones we can't finish until the problem gets fixed.

Hi Candice. You should be able to override the drop down “suggestions.” I was just now able to on my iPad in that same Field on a batch from that Project, and have also been able to recently on my PC.
Here’s how: Enter the value 54 and hit Tab instead of Enter. The Field should then retain what you typed. Here below are the two pages of Web Indexing keyboard shortcuts, with a discussion of this issue (Universal Input) at the bottom of the Page 2.

It’s a slightly different context (drop-down vs auto-suggest), but should still work.
It works: I just tried it on my PC and it does work. Highlight the existing value, type 54, hit Tab, and 54 will be retained. Or just type 54 in the first place and hit Tab.
