Bug Report: Invitations to Groups Do Not Work
I received this e-mail from a group leader:
Clicking on the blue link does nothing. Clicking on the green Join brings me to the group's page:
Unlike all other groups, I see both a Join and a Decline button. I assume this is because of the invitation. Clicking on Join causes this:
According to the group leader for this group that I personally know, of the hundred invitations they have sent out, only one person has managed to join the group. This was probably by ignoring the invitation and just going to the group, thereby not becoming an Applicant.
If I now click Decline, I still just get the Applicant Not Found flag.
Please fix this invitation system.
And if anyone knows how to get rid of the Join/Decline buttons so there is just Join like the other groups, please post instructions here.

I also previously reported something like this - more than one time.
Does the invitation option in the new community really work?? it really seems like it doesnt.
can someone please fix it once and for all.
Question - - is the invitaiton process only meant to work with pre-existing community members
or should I be able to enter anyone's email and send out an invite
I have never been able to even prove that indeed an email gets sent out.
All my testing lacked any proof that any email was being generated and emailed - anytime I have ever tested this process.
Ive wanted to go back and re-invite those large groups of people that seemed ot have been dropped from the community when the conversion took place - but the invite options seems forever broke.

@Gordon Collett & @Dennis J Yancey - Thanks for reporting this. Let me dig in and do some testing - I'll circle back once I have more info and next steps identified.

Thanks. A second issue was brought to my attention today. When a set of group leaders has submitted a bunch of invitations, only the last twenty appear on the management page with the button Revoke. All of them need to be accessible.

Feel free, to use me; as, a 'guinea pig' ...
Send me, an "invite", to one of the 'Groups', that you are one of the "Group Leaders" of ...
And, I will let you know, if I even get an actual "E-mail", rather than just a "Notification" within this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

I have done some intiial testing that was succesful.
as to additonal testing - i think it should be tested with someone who is not even a member of the community.

@Dennis J Yancey, @Gordon Collett, & @Brett . - Hey Friends - working with the dev team we were able to identify the issue preventing email invitiations. A fix has been developed and is currently in testing. We're expecting to push the fix in the near future.

Hey @Gordon Collett,
The vendor responded to let me know this would be fixed in a future release - no ETA as to when this would be, but it is planned.
Best,
Mark
