I need help in finding my great great grandfather from the Falconer NY area.
My great grandmother, Ruth Wright (adopted name, Gates) was adopted when she was 2 by a cousin. Her biological father was supposed to be Robert Wright from Buffalo NY born around 1854. Ruth’s mother died during childbirth in 1903. I have had 2 dna tests on my mother,1 on me,1 on my sister and 1 on my daughter and we still can’t find matches. I have also been extensively researching this person for a few years on Ancestry and Family search.I’m beginning to wonder if that is really the person who was her father. Falconer/Ross Mills NY is very small and you would think it wouldn’t be so difficult to find info on this man if this is really him.

We would recommend an online personal consultation with the world famous Family History Library staff for tips and recommendations in your research. Please click the Help icon (the small circle with the question mark inside of it in the upper right corner) and enter the search term Where can I get help with my genealogy? Then follow the link to set an appointment for a free, 20 minute consultation with a specialist from the FHL.
DNA is a wonderful tool in researching your line. However, you only will get hits on your line if a related person has also submitted their DNA line in the data base where you are looking. For help in your DNA research please go to Search Research Wiki and enter DNA for a few How To articles.
