Searching in your own direct line
Hello, I have often wanted to be able to have the option to search in Family Search in my direct line only, meaning father, mother, Grandfather, grandmother, their parents, and on and on, and possibility also to include the children of these people who are in my direct line. It would make things so much easier than trying to weed through the thousands of results I sometimes get. I would use this as an entry point for looking at my tree, and it would be much faster than navigating back and back and back and hoping you remember the correct path. I think lots of people would think this is a great enhancement.
We love the product and all the enhancements that have been made over the years. Thank you.

I wonder how you would expect this to work?
There is already an algorithm in operation that adds all the FamilySearch available sources it is able to find to your ancestors.
To find any sources you need to add to your ancestors, produce a chart (as shown below), starting with yourself or (in turn) the IDs for your parents / grandparents. I have picked a person at random, then clicked on "Tree" to get to this Landscape view. The idea is to then work your way through the relatives with the blue marks showing and add any sources to them that you can verify have been correctly suggested by the algorithm.
Otherwise, you will need to make your own searches, at https://www.familysearch.org/search/ by adding sufficient detail to allow the program to find sources that might be applicable to your family members.
Remember, FamilySearch does not even have many of the records that you might wish to find on its database. There are not always "easy ways" to find records - whether from within FamilySearch or from other sources / websites.
We have all been rather spoilt by computer programs and databases and have come to expect it to be relatively easy to complete our family trees, together with backing evidence. However, I have worked for many years on certain branches of my family and still am nowhere near solving certain identity queries.
Unfortunately, there is often no way around the problem with "navigating back and back and back and hoping you remember the correct path..." and finding a methodical way in which to go up and down the various branches or your ancestry is indeed a problem most of us encounter.
Best wishes in your searches, but this work can be fraught with difficulties, for which there is no easy way around, I've found.

@DavidPohlig It sounds like you are perhaps using the Find feature within Family Tree rather than searching Historical Records. Is this correct? And wanting a way to limit those results to people who show a relationship link to you?
