Ancestory.com unable to have online access
Hello,
I have tried to access my "free" online account through familysearch.org and also by going directly into ancestry.com and neither method worked. I was unable to view documents. I show I should have access and my member number is in the profile page. I already tried calling ancestry and they told me to call you. I am registered on ancestry but it keeps asking me to subscribe, and nothing about the church. When I tried accessing through familysearch and go to ancestry and it still asks for a password. So I signed up years ago when the church said we didn't have to pay, it worked seldom and so I just stopped using but need to find a name so trying again.
Thank you

Hello
I have helped several people with the issue you are experiencing. The basic configuration for working with Ancestry as an online Family History research partner, is that the email address you use in FamilySearch, must be the same one you use with your Ancestry account. We do not recommend you use the password for your member account for Ancestry or for other partner sites.
The usual predicament when not being able to connect to Ancestry with a free member account, is that a certain email address has already been configured with Ancestry, which you may have forgotten but which is the linking factor with your Church Membership.
If you can be sure what this email address is, you can call Ancestry and provide this information to a member of their Support Staff. The agent you are speaking with can then offer you a temporary password for the account proven to link with this email address.
Please let me know if this is your situation and if the configurations you have need changing. There are other values to your predicament, which we can look at. Please read the help article linked below and follow the given instructions, if the directions about email configuration does not work.
Please message again if you need further support.
