How to submit corrections to presented information?
I have just discovered FamilySearch and learned much more about my ancestry than I did before. However, I have personal knowledge and have done my own research, and I recognize many errors in the family tree. I don't know how this information is collected and documented in the tree, but how do I submit corrections when I know the information presented is incorrect?

FamilySearch differs from other genealogy programs in that it is one tree that everyone can add individuals and make corrections to any person already added to the tree. There are a few exceptions like for living persons and for a few records marked private. So you can change information you believe to be incorrect and explain why the information is incorrect and why you changed it. It also allows you to collaborate with other relatives you are related to. Welcome to FamilySearch and good luck!

Hello @MaxByers,
Here is how you can correct errors on your tree.
Steps (Website)
- In Family Tree, display the person page of the individual whose information you want to correct. If you are on another view, click on the person's name and click on Person in the gray bar at the bottom of the pop-up window.
- If you do not see the Vitals section near the top of the screen, click Details.
- For the information you need to correct, click "Edit" just to the right.
- Review the sources and reason statement.
- Make your changes.
- If the option is available to delete information, you can click Delete in the bottom right corner of the box.
- If you change a date or place, select a standardized date or place. These will appear underneath the information that you added in. If no matching standard is available, click None of the Above.
- Enter a reason statement to explain why the information is correct. If the existing reasoning is applicable, leave the existing explanation, and add your own comments.
- Click Save.
Note: We recommend that you refresh the web page after you save changes.

If you hover your mouse beneath the EDIT sign you will see the message "Edit Unavailable", so you know to immediately give-up on trying to make a correction. You can only add a note of the error when adding the record to the individuals to whom it is meant to apply.
You will come across many such indexing errors for which, at this time, there is no means of making any correction. At least, with this one, you should be able to work out the actual facts regarding whose parents actually belonged to who.
