Hello, I would like to ask about some records in Slovakia Church and Synagogue Books, 1592-1935.

In this specific search:

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/1378698?availability=Family%20History%20Library

I found this film/digital notes.

Two of the records (highighted yellow in attached image) are not in form of online image but in form of some micorfilm. I really need to see that online in some scan from the book.

Could you please help me understand why this specifis 2 sources are not in digital form here? Because for example Batism for previous years (Baptism 1776 - 1805 / 2nd line in attached picture) are digitalised and I can see scaned picture from book. And newer records are not avilable to see online (i.e. Baptism 1805 - 1807 and 1807 - 1871 / 3rd and 4th line in attached picture).

I dont understand why is it like that and

  • where I can find this online/digitalised screens?
  • when/if they will avilble here on this platform?

And last question - is it possible to communicate with somebody in Slovak language or directly from Slovakia?

Thanks for any help. I really appreciate that.

Lubomir

    @LubomirKusnier

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, one who has worked in "Family History Centres" of the Church for many Years ... ]

There are any number of reason WHY the "Digitised" copy of those particular FHL Films are NOT 'On-Line'.

One simple; but, important one, is that the Record "Custodian", DOES NOT want that Films to appear 'on-line', for whatever reason.

Hopefully, someone from 'FamilySearch' "Support", will find your 'Question', here, in under the "Topic" of "Family History Centres" and respond appropriately; or, initially, alternatively, "Move" this post possibly to a more appropriate 'Topic" of (lets say) either, "Search"; or, "Other, for another from 'FamilySearch' "Support" to respond ▬ as, there is currently NO 'Topic' for "Records" (ie. Films/Fiche/Books/etc).

And, hopefully, in the long term, if there is NO "Restriction" (ie. impediment) from the Record "Custodian", this post of your may be the catalyst for getting the "Digitised" copies of those two (x2) Films 'On-Line' in 'FamilySearch'.

    As an aside ...

There is always, the option, of the FREE "Look-Up Service", available through the "Family History Library" (FHL), of the Church, in "Temple Square", in Salt lake City, Utah, USA.

Here are "Links", about; and, to, that FREE "Look-Up Service":

    About ..

    'FamilySearch' "Blog"

New Library Lookup Service—For When You Can’t Visit the Family History Library

    .

    To ...

    'FamilySearch' "Wiki"

    https://www.familysearch.org/family-history-library/family-history-library-records-look-up-service

    .

Until those Films (if you are lucky) are available 'On-Line' in 'FamilySearch, I suggest you give that FREE "Look-Up Service" a go.

    Good Luck.

    I hope this helps.

Film 2193558 has records that less are 100 years old. Specifically, Item 2 of that film has records up to 1929.

If there is a 100 year privacy law, and that is the case in most European countries, then the film won't be put online until January 2030.

Since all the other films are avaliable online, I don't think the record owner (or "record custodian") has any objections to the records being published.

Item 1 of the film does not have any records less than 100 years old. FamilySearch has plans to break up films into their separate Items. So this part of the film may become available within a few years. But I highly doubt that Item 2 will be available on FamilySearch before 2030.
