fAMILY hISTORY CENTRES
I used to visit the Family History Centre in Ashton under Lyne on a fairly regular basis. I then lived in Rochdale. I now live in Widnes, Cheshire and have resumed my family history. There is no family history centre anywhere near where we live. The nearest is Warrington, but they do not have any film readers. The next is either Liverpool or Birkenhead. Unfortunately due to Covid they are all closed. In any case I am no longer in a position to visit as we have no car. We had to get rid of the car.
We got rid of our car as my husband has been diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and I am unable to leave him, he used to drive me to the centre.
I want to view two reels for Anwoth in Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland- Film 1067972 and 103764181. I wondered if you have people who can view these two films for me - I can pay for the research providing the charges are reasonable. I am really desperate to find any information relating to the familly of my Great Grandmother who was born in Gatehouse of Fleet - Parish of Anwoth.
Can you please let me know if you are able to help - if so I can provide the names and send you the payment.
Thank you
Michele

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
[ And, one who has worked in "Family History Centres" of the Church for a number of Years ...
FYI
For starters ...
We no longer need "Film Readers".
the Church STOPPED sending out, both, Films; and, Fiche, back in about October 2017.
As, much, if not most, of the Films are now 'On-Line'; and, available for us at Hone; or, if there is any particular "Restriction", hopefully, at a "Family History Centre" of the Church.
Some of the "Family History Centres" of the Church around the World have REOPENED.
Whereas, some (if not, many) of the "Family History Centres" of the Church around the World are still TEMPORARILY "Closed", due to the "COVID-19" Pandemic.
Regardless, at present, which commenced on 2 June 2021 (ie. Last Month), the "Portal", at the "Family History Centres" of the Church around the World, giving FREE access to, BOTH, 'Premium' Website; and, 'Restricted' Records (eg. Films/Fiche, etc), will be UNAVAILABLE for, at least, some x90 Days.
Now ...
That Said ...
Do not disappear ...
The Church, 'FamilySearch', through the "Family History Library" (FHL) in "Temple Square" in "Salt Lake City", Utah, USA has a "Look-Up Service" that we can use.
Here are the details of that "Look-Up Service":
'FamilySearch' "Blog"
New Library Lookup Service—For When You Can’t Visit the Family History Library
https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/library-lookup-service-fhl/
"Family History Library" (FHL)
https://www.familysearch.org/family-history-library/family-history-library-records-look-up-service
Can I suggest that you give that "Look-Up Service" a go.
Good Luck.

ps: I, know; and, have been to, Cheshire, some of my Ancestors are from there.

Hey, 'Brett', again ...
Question: WHAT 'Time Period', in Anwoth, in Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, are you looking at?
[ And, What Names (and, details) are you particularly searching for? ]
My "Maternal" Ancestry is from Scotland.
As an aside ...
Have you ever tried the "ScotlandsPeoples" Website?
https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/
The "ScotlandsPeoples" Website is maintained by the Government of Scotland.
And, is part of the "National Records of Scotland".
It is FREE, to Register (and, become a User/Patron); and, view the "Indexes".
IF, you want a DIGITAL "Copy" of a particular Record (ie. "Index"); THEN, the cost/fee is quite reasonable.
Certainly, not too excessive.
I ONLY get DIGITAL "Copies" of IMPORTANT Family/Ancestors, I find the "Indexes" are sufficient in most cases
This might 'tide you over', until you get the information from 'FamilySearch'.
Just a thought.

I see you are looking for pre-1855 Church records. These are indeed available at ScotlandsPeople, but you will have to pay a fee for every image you view.
At FamilySearch the images are available (for free) at either a FHC (which are having computer repairs until early September) or an Affiliate Library.
I have access to an Affiliate Library and can help you. You can leave me a private message through this forum if you'd like to discuss this further.

Sorry for your stressful situation.
I did see that film 1067972, items 1-9, are available digitally.
Film 103764181 is only available at FHCs or Affiliate libraries, as you mentioned, outside of these two:
I would suggest the "Look Up" service that "Brett" suggested. It would be the fastest way to get the information.
Best to you and your husband.

FYI
Please be aware that ...
The Level of 'Access' to the various Records [ie. depending on 'Restriction(s)' ] in 'FamilySearch', VARIES among/between the many Users/Patrons of 'FamilySearch'.
There are a number of various reasons WHY Users/Patrons have/get different 'Access'.
Such is WHY many Users/Patrons can ONLY 'see'/'access' such ('Restricted') Records at "Family History Centres" of the Church around the World (or, if they are 'lucky', at "Affiliate Libraries" around the World).
For SOME Users/Patrons, NONE of those "Films" (ie. relating to 1067972 and 103764181) are accessible, to certain Users/Patrons.
Examples (being different to your image):
Just so as you are aware.
I hope this helps.
