Where do I find the private email?

As we work in the Community, at the upper right corner we should see the Community icon, the Help Center icon [circle with question mark], a bell icon [where we might see a personal message], and email icon [which should allow us to see a message sent to our FamilySearch email], and an icon that represents our account.
You should have received an email from the FamilySearch Community in your personal email program if you have checked your Community Preferences to be able to receive emails from those in the Community.
If you have not set your preferences about how you wish to have other communicate with you, please click on the icon that represents your account at the far upper right, then click Edit Profile. The next screen will allow you to go to your Preferences list to decide whether you just want to receive a post from others or if you want to receive an email. You can also uncheck specific options if you don't wish to receive either for specific Community options. I hope this information is helpful and that you will find the Notification about this issue.
As a reminder, you usually see a number at the top of the page when someone has sent you a personal message, but it is still good to check both the bell and the email icon if you have not been in the Community for a while.
