Reindexing site not working
I tried (my first time ever) to return a batch for re-indexing, and followed the directions but there was no response when I returned to the indexing tool and refreshed the screen. I tried twice more. No re-indexing window popped up. The re-indexing page said to give feedback if it doesn't work, but they didn't indicate where to give that feedback.
I'm trying to give feedback to the indexer on this batch. They are putting ages on the first image, instead of the 2nd (intermixing pages) and writing "spinster" and "widow" for the bride's prefix. They are also writing the marriage parish from the 2nd pages, which is actually the "place of abode" instead.

@scable2001, as reviewers in web-indexing we have always been able to make a decision to return a batch for reindexing. It is my understanding that the form in labs, Reasons to Reindex Batch, is to be used to alert FamilySearch when an indexer or a reviewer might need some training. Has something recently changed that renders reindexing a batch obsolete, whether we use the experimental form or not?

I don't have a batch that currently needs to be reindexed. But, I was able to go to Labs, click on the Active box for the Reasons to Reindex Batch lab, and return to the batch. Then I clicked on Batch and Reindex Batch and the box appeared. The batch wasn't to be reindexed, so at that point I cancelled the process and the box disappeared.
When you returned to the screen with the image and refreshed, did you click Batch and Reindex again? The box doesn't just appear when you refresh the screen.

Also, you might want to check that Help>Labs screen again to be sure that your choice/ selection to make that “Reindex with Reasons” option “Active” has “stuck.” I.e. that it is truly active. I’ve had occasions when, first time I tried, it somehow forgot my choice and didn’t give me the “Feedback” version of the Reindex dialogue. Plus, be sure to refresh your browser (F5) after making the “Active” selection.

When reviewing a batch and you find that it isn't indexed correctly we ask that you fix the indexing, not turn it back in. It is your choice if you don't want to reindex it just return it for someone else to do it. The process is the same for a indexing batch or reviewing a batch.

@cesarnarcisotinocoperez1 Sorry, I don't speak enough Spanish to understand your post. Is there a way we can translate if someone responds in a different language?
@Melissa S Himes Thanks for your link. Those had not been the instructions I'd received initially. I did click on Batch, and then "re-index batch", and the form popped up. Yay! However, since the batch I'm currently on does not need to be re-indexed, I'll have to try it out another time. Thanks!

Hello Ann Carol. I'm so glad that you found the form and that it is working for you.
Regarding the translation of answers, you can always copy the foreign language comment and use Google Translate (translate.google.com) to get a fairly decent translation.
You simply copy the post, visit the website, and paste the post into the box on the left. It will detect the language and translate to English (or whatever language you choose). Neither of the above posts in Spanish have anything to do with your question.
