I need help breaking through a dead-end. I have found marriage and death records for Johann Friedrich Walb (K2TK-WJS). Both of these original parish records indicate he was born on 3 Feb 1771, and that he was a laborer from Varl. Varl is about 2 km from Rahden, the parish where these records are found. There are Rahden parish records online for this time period, but I cannot find any birth record for him, either on that date, or any other date around there. (HIs birth record would probably be found on FHL film #102624726 , frame 399). Can anyone spot any other clues in these marriage and death records that might help me find his birth record? Could it be a different Varl from the one near Rahden (where he lived out his life)? Or could some other nearby parish have recorded his birth, rather than Rahden? Any other ideas?

Here is the marriage record, FHL film 102624754, image 68, entry 45.

Here is the death record, FHL film 102624769, image 104, entry 294

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
