Scroll down
I've been reviewing marriage bonds in Lancashire, England in the 1700s, and one (or more?) indexer doesn't seem to be aware that they need to scroll down on the page in order to enter the remainder of the data requested. Eg: they fill in the bridegroom's and bride's names, but fail to scroll down on every page in order to enter the day/month/year/parish of the marriage.
I have run into this problem several times, but there is no way to notify that indexer(s) other than leaving a note here, and hoping that they'll see it.
Thx.

You can Return the batch for Reindexing with “Reasons to Reindex Batch.” It’s a feature that can be activated under the Labs option in the Help drop down when the batch in question is open. It gives feedback via FS Support to the Indexer, who evidently needs an intervention. Currently it’s the only way a Reviewer can give corrective feedback to an Indexer on a specific batch, indirect as it is.
Here below is the form you will see when you choose “Reindex” after you’ve activated this Labs option. I would leave “Keep the Indexed Data” selected.

Thank you, John! I've never heard of this option before.
Yes, I've had several different types of repeat errors while reviewing: writing the ages on the wrong pages (ie: combining information from 2 different pages) or not recording the ages at all; writing "no extractable data" or "duplicate page" when in reality it is just pg 2 of the document; writing "widow" or "spinster" as the prefix of the bride; people obviously unfamiliar with the project instructions; not checking the signature at the bottom to see if he spells his name the same way the clerk did; etc.
It's been frustrating to see the same mistakes perpetuated, and to not be able to give some feedback. I guess I can now.
Thx for your response.

You’re welcome, Ann.
It’s pretty well hidden. Yes, it is good to be able to give some sort of feedback. I like that there is a free form “Other” option, which along with the “canned” responses should cover just about every situation.
