Reviewing a batch that the indexer has input Portland, Oregon in the Directory Place field. The Directory Title is "Portland City Directory". It does not have Oregon in the Directory title.

I am familiar with the Portland area, so I know that this directory is indeed Portland, Oregon, but since it doesn't say Oregon specifically in the directory title, should it just be indexed as "Portland" in the Directory Place field?

You are correct. It should only be indexed as Portland because we don't use places in the ads to determine location.
