How do I change the language for the indexing? For instance, it is asking for first name last name etc, but it is asking for fornamn, etanamn etc, in Swedish. It defaulted to when I tried to index a Lutheran church registry for new immigrants.

Here is an article you will find the instructions on how to do that.

I would just add a caution to the instructions cited. One excerpt is:

To see what projects are available, check our indexing projects page . When you search for a batch, you can also filter the list of projects by language.

The caution is: The “indexing projects page” or sometimes called “Find a Project” is not kept up-to-date, and so can be misleading and confusing. A better place to look for projects is on the Web Indexing/ My Batches page under “Find Batches” where you can also filter by language.

NOTE: I have made a suggestion to remedy this issue. Since posting the link below to my suggestion I have edited it to change the wording “Find a Batch” to the correct “Find Batches.”
