Married couple fan chart

Hi,

I am trying to produce a fan chart for my relative and his new wife, but they have no children at this time. I would like it to show his ancestors and hers. Ideally the center node would be something like "married {date}".

For this first scenario (no children), I can do this by temporarily adding a "fake child" node corresponding to the marriage event.

Similarly, I would like to produce one for my other relative who does have children, but again with the marriage as the center node. This would show the children from the marriage as nodes fanning out below the marriage, and the ancestors of both people in the union with equal importance. In this chart, no one child is shown with a greater emphasis than the other, and no parent is shown with a greater emphasis than the other.

For this second scenario (with children), I would need to create the fake child node and temporarily reparent the children to this marriage node. Which is a pain.

In summary, for living people it is sometimes more appropriate to create a fan chart based on a marriage event or a pair of person IDs. Is this possible?

Thanks,

James

Personally - I have ALSO in a few cases - added a "non existant" child record - just so I could do what you are attempting.

and then after the fan charft was printed - I went back and deleted the chid record.

(since the child record will be a living record - no one else will be able to see it anyway)

also I have converted the fan chart to JPG - and then aded little tweaks to it - like adding names of multiple children etc.
