Provide Optional 2-Column or 3-Column Data Entry Mode For Web Indexing

This feature would allow for more convenient, efficient and accurate indexing of, for example, Prefix, Given Names, Surname or Given Names, Surname, Suffix Fields especially when dealing with tabular data (e.g. a census). It allows them to be done all at the same time, with one setup i.e. “multi-channel” indexing. And, versus current 1-Column Data Entry Mode, it is virtually self-registering/self-correcting. Normally, when using Column Mode an Indexer should check every so often to be sure that alignment with the Records on the image is maintained, to avoid drifting off a row or two. With two or three Fields being indexed, that alignment is pretty much assured, but easy to check. And this approach minimizes manipulation of the image and Entry panels. Would it work to temporarily remove all fields but the ones you are focusing on then add them again to finish the batch?

That’s a clever idea, but unfortunately you can only hide or reorder Fields in Form Entry mode and not in Table Entry mode where you’d have to start if you wanted too have 2 or 3 columns left.
