    You search for that person under Family Tree, and then Find. That will take you to a Discover Your Deceased Ancestors screen where you can select FIND BY ID and enter the ID number.

    There is no ownership of lines or any entry in Family Tree. Any record is available for any user to add or correct information regarding that record. So if you can locate the record of the person in question you can attach the information you have to the record. You can edit the vital information etc for the majority of records in Family Tree. There are a very few that are locked and editing is not allowed. Usually these are famous individuals.

    @LyndaTurner

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    As an aside ...

    Question: Is that "... someone who isnt in my tree ...", DECEASED; or, LIVING?

    And ...

    Question: Is the INFORMATION related to, "Deceased"; or, "Living" People?

    Plus ...

    When you say that you "... have the ID ..."

    Question: Is that "FamilySearch Person Identifier" (PID), that of a, "Living"; or, "Deceased", individual/person?

    Just curious.

    Hello LyndaTurner

    Just a thought. Where did the obituary come from? It is best to give the source of the information, that is, add it as a source, and then provide the link.

    Thank you for going the extra mile. We are glad you are willing to add the information for others to see, and use.
