Keep the Call in Operators

Dear Family Research,

I have had to call in many times in the last few weeks to get assistance with my genealogical work. It was imperative that I have a "Live Person" to talk too. Without this help, I would have been frozen in my progression. Please, please keep your Call in Assistants. Please allow those of us learning to do genealogy, the time and wisdom of these trained individuals. I would have been unable to continue my efforts without them. I have valued each of them as I have worked my way through the maze of rules and requirements to complete this sacred work. I have people on the other side of the veil counting on me to do my job. Please keep the tools I need to make this possible. Without the kind help of these missionaries, I would not been able to move forward.

Thank you

You will be able to receive a call if needed. Another option is your local TFH Consultants. They can help you in person if that is allowed in your area. If there is a Family History Center near you that is also an option. The two last suggestions offer you one on one in person help!

    Both are very under utilized.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

    Question:

What makes you think that 'FamilySearch' "Support" does not, still have, in-person, one-on-one, Telephone contact/support?

    Just my thoughts ...

Despite the recent "Changes" to, both, the FORMAT / FUNCTIONALITY of 'FamilySearch' "Support"; and, the INCLUSION of 'FamilySearch' "Support" into this "Community.FamilySaerch" Forum ...

As far as I was aware ...

    [ Unless, there has been a radical change/shift ... ]

The, in-person, one-on-one, Telephone contact/support, by Users/Patrons, to 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel), is STILL available.

It is just a change in the format ...

It is just that, the "Help"; and, "Contact Us, now goes to the ...

    "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch' being:

    Contact Support

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/contact-familysearch-support

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/contact-familysearch-support

Where, that article provides various Telephone Numbers from the various Regions ALL around the World.

    [ With, the applicable opening/operating times/hours ... ]

One just needs to use a particular Telephone Number relevant to one's particular location.

    WHEREAS ...

The ONLY thing, that is now MISSING, is the OLD facility/function/feature to "Send a Message"; being, a "Private" message, DIRECTLY to 'FamilySearch' "Support"; whereby, one actually AUTOMATICALLY created a 'FamilySearch' "Support" Case, rather than posting in the "Public" ARENA (ie. this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum).

IF, you are NOT experiencing the, in-person, one-on-one, Telephone contact/support, with 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel); THEN, please advise.

I hope that this helps, somewhat.

    And ...

IF, either of the responses here, do not address you concerns; THEN, please advise.

    @Carms66

    G'Day

    I am just another User/Patron ...

I am in contact with 'Betsy'.

I am somewhat aware of your situation.

    So, I understand you concern.

I cannot help, with that Telephone number, for 'FamilySearch' "Support", for the UK.

    But ...

    That Said ...

    I have a thought.

IF, you are able; THEN, I humbly suggest that you try a "Live" ('On-Line') "Chat", which is "Private", I believe.

Just try enquiring about the Telephone number, for 'FamilySearch' "Support", for UK, just to 'test the waters'.

'See' how you go with that.

DO NOT try with anything you want kept "Private", just to start with.

    And ...

IF, that works (and, you get number that works); THEN, you then have TWO (x2) "Options" for a "Private" way of communicating with 'FamilySearch' "Support".

    Plus ...

IF, in the "Live" ('On-Line') "Chat"; and, you are advised to use this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum; THEN, you simply inform them, that you have done that; and, such is TOO "Public", you want to DEAL in a more "Private" manner.

'FamilySearch' "Support" NEEDS to be able to accommodate you in such a "Private" manner ▬ all-be-it, via/through "Private" 'Messaging' on this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum; and/or, DIRECT "E-mail".

    Good Luck.

    I hope this helps.
