UK, England, Middlesex—Parish Registers, 1539–1988 [Part B][MSPC-Q3S], Entry 14 (no. 1110)

I'm indexing a Burial record for a Parish in Middlesex, England in 1830 and came across a name I'm not sure about. I wonder if it might actually be an abbreviation of "Lieutenant." Could someone more experienced decipher it for me, please?

Thank you.

Lieut - I believe this is an abbreviation for Lieutenant, as you theorized. I would index it in the field for Deceased's Prefix.

    Hello Heather Fisher Daniels

Yes Lieut. is an abbreviation for Lieutenant and should not be indexed as part of the name.

It is a title Lietenant and you can use it like Mr or Mrs

Field help says: Do not expand abbreviations or correct misspellings. You can index it as Lieut as it is shown on the image in the prefix entry.

Here is an article you to know how to approach these terms. Hope this clarifies your question.
