Downloading a PDF of a book (in this case a Chicago City Directory) and on attempting to open Adobe
I have just gone through the (slightly) laborious task of downloading a large MG file (PDF) of a Chicago Directory (1890) that has been digitized from the Library at Salt Lake and each time - when I try to open the downloaded file -- Adobe comes on with the statement that the file can't be opened because it is damaged
I did it twice and both instances the same issue.
Adobe wants to sell me a subscription to a new and upgraded Adobe file - but I have been using the read version for so many years I don't feel the need to spend to get Adobe's latest.
Is this an issue for the scanners at the Salt Lake City library or is this an issue that others have encountered lately from ADOBE?
