RE:Source Linker RE:GenealogyBank Obituary, Marriage License, Marriage Documents in upper L. corne
If the name of the deceased was added to the linker page it would be most helpful. At the present time, you need to stop and go to image to be sure who the obituary is about. It is a needless step which could be omitted by just stating the name of the deceased under Gene. Bank info on the source linker page near top L. corner..
The same is true for weddings. It wd. be helpful if Marriage licenses & certificates could list names of those who were being married (& date if possible). As it is now, you have to go back to Image and be sure what you include as a source is correct. It makes it much harder to write the source correctly. Each person could save a step or two back to reread the documents if name of bride and groom were under the left corner where the entry is printed on source linker.
I place a lot of sources on F.S. Please do if possible.

You may need to re-write this post to more fully explain your concern and proposed correction. There are a couple of statements here that I find confusing so I'm not really sure what you are referring to. The main thing am I having trouble with is that when using the Source Linker, we don't have "to write the source correctly" because the source is already fully written. We just have to attach it. Also, in Source Linker, I have generally seen that it clearly states who each of the multiple sources is about.
So I am wondering if when you are referring to Source Linker here if you are referring to something different than what is usually referred to as the Source Linker.
This page is what most people refer to as the Source Linker:
This shows the five independent sources created from this obituary. In the top left corner, it gives the name of the current Focus person, the person just under the blue bar. Beside each person's name is the person's "role" in the source document. The "Principal" is who the obituary is about. "Other" means it wasn't clear to the indexer how the person was related to the principal person.
Since the information you are requesting, the names of the persons that the source is referring to and how they are referred to in the obituary, is already there, I'm not sure where you are working on sources unless you are dealing with a bunch of records that were not indexed very well.
Also, for marriage records, the Source Linker shows each person's name and role as well as the date and place of marriage:
So all six of the sources, that do not need to be written because they already are, that are listed here contain all the information you are requesting.
That is why I am thinking you must mean a different way of creating sources. And if you are not just attaching the existing indexed sources but are writing the sources yourself, then you are wasting a lot of time and creating a lot of duplicate sources unnecessarily. I can't image that is the case, so please explain where you really are working and what you are really doing that led you to post this idea.
