Attaching a source to a marriage

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Short Answer: BECAUSE the "Source" is ALREADY 'Attached" to an individual/person; hence, "Duplication".
IF, a "Source" is ALREADY 'Attached" to an individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; THEN, there is VERY Much the likelihood that there is a Possible "Duplicate" of the individual/person that you are TRYING to attach that "Source" to.
Thereby ...
That "Stopper" is in place, to ENSURE, that one does DO some "Research"; and, investigate, whether or not, there is, in fact, a Possible "Duplicate"; where, one MAY be able to "Merge"/"Combine" them.
WHY attach a "Source" that is ALREADY 'Attached" to an individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'?
That is the real question ...
Hence ...
One must do their 'due diligence', to make certain, that this is NO Possible "Duplicate", of an individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch", that one is "Attaching" a "Source" to.
And ...
IF, there is a Possible "Duplicate"; THEN, "Merge"/"Combine".
Simple really ...
Just my thoughts.

One additional issue with marriage or relationship sources is that they are not currently visible in the Family Tree app. Relationship Notes can be added & viewed in the Family Tree Mobile app.

This issue is currently confounding me. I am starting to believe the intent is to ONLY add sources related to relationships in the Relationship area. They support the relationship between two people and do not support the other vital information. YET, they can support residence (groom resides in X and bridge resides in Y), the "sex" tag, the birth year and the birth place. SO I remain hopelessly confused!
