1820 Columbia County GA census records problem
A records search on Joseph Carmichael in Columbia County GA in 1820, requesting only census records, finds nothing. Yet, the record is there. See the link below. In the past I would have reported this via email, but that option appears to have disappeared.

We found him when we changed the search criteria to only Georgia. The mystery is why this displays Bulloch, Georgia. It IS the same person when you view the image.
We can send this to an internal group for review. We cannot predict when they will be able to work on it.

That's correct. The email option isn't there, but live chat and phone support still are. Scroll about 3/4 of the way down this page:

Thanks. I was aware of the other reporting options, but since I needed to note the collection and the URL link where the problem can be seen, email seemed the best option. Certainly took less time for me to report it since I could do it right when I noticed the problem. I've seen this type of problem occur a number of times with various collections in the last few months, and was told by support to send the URLs so somebody could take a look at it and get it straightened out. With time zone differences, email is always available unlike the other choices. What I really would like to know is when this problem is fixed, so I can research in that area again and feel comfortable that the search results are correct. In the old system, I could go back to my case list and check and see if things were fixed--now my case list is gone, and unfortunately, I don't remember all the locations where there were problems, so I'll probably end up reporting the same places again.

Here is the citation for the record you found.
"United States Census, 1820," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XHLW-M1V : accessed 26 June 2021), Joseph W Carmichael, Capt John Cochrans District, Columbia, Georgia, United States; citing p. 35, NARA microfilm publication M33, (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), roll 7; FHL microfilm 175,766.
Note you have the FHL film and page numbers, and you can view the image.

Yes, the record is there and viewable. That's not the problem. The problem is if you go to Search Records, enter Joseph Carmichael, with residence Columbia, Georgia, and record type, Census, the record is not in the search results. Here is the URL for the results that I got:

Thanks very much! I've found this same situation in different locations multiple times in the past few months. Makes it very hard to research and feel like you're getting good data on the searches.
