It was not a glitch, it was a bug: an obvious coding error.
In any event it is long gone, so of no value in this group.

Glitch as could be theoretically caused by temporary server outage or hiccup in communication making it impossible for the correctly coded program to access the list of valid place types that self recovered when the database of place types rebooted and restored access to it.

Unless insufficient explanation of errors, something pretty common on the website, is considered a bug. Instead of the error message you got, it probably should have said something like "Service temporarily unavailable, please try again later."
