Norwegian names with both a patronymic and a farm name

When I began indexing these Norwegian records, I asked how to deal with names that had both patronymic and farm name. I was told you put both in the Surname field, separating them with the word Or. Is this correct?

If you share your batch, perhaps someone will be better able to answer your question.

Here's the only information I could find on the topic, and it has to do with Family Tree:

Your URLs don't address the question. When I began indexing these records, I asked the question on the Norwegian Probate Cards site, and got a response which I assume was from a person whose job was to answer questions. He said to enter both the patronymic and the farm name in the Surname field with the word 'Or' between them. I have been following these directions, and I notice that nobody else does. Either they put both names in the Surname field without the 'Or', or they ignore the farm name. Seems to me this is an important question, since it would involve the index which is eventually produced and published.

This question should be addressed by the persons in charge of the indexing of these Norwegian Probate Cards. But I don't know how do contact such persons.

Since you have not shared a batch, we can't look at the directions for the project.

But if you index the "patronymic Or farm name" in the surname field, a researcher will find the record if either or both are used as search parameters. So the task of making a record to get researchers to records is definitely fulfilled that way.
