Username vs Display name vs Contact name.
Currently to sign in to Community we use our FamilySearch username and password.
The name that shows on the screen to the public is the same as the FamilySearch CONTACT NAME, yet Community calls it the USERNAME. But it is different than the name you use to sign in to Community.
Please change the name of the name showing in Community to "Contact Name" so it matches the terminology we are using in FamilySearch.
Thank you.

FYI
I sort of raised this matter back during "Testing" in the (later) Development stages of the NEW Platform of the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
'FamilySearch' had to do some 'jiggling' to address/fix the Problem/Issue', that I raised; as, it was a SERVIOUS "Security" Breach.
My details, that were "Private", in my "Settings", in My 'FamilySearch' Account, WERE visible to ALL in the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I thought that that was finally addressed/fixed in the much (later) Development stages of the NEW Platform of the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
Just to make sure that things have not changed ,,,
As far as I was aware ...
There are basically Four (x4) 'Different' Name formats, in OUR 'FamilySearch' Account, for Users/Patrons.
They being:
(1) Full ( Legal ) Name = Used to 'Create' a 'FamilySearch' Account;
..... usually, one's FULL 'Legal' name ... [ Always "Private", for your eyes only ]
(2) UserName = Used to "Sign In" ... [ Always "Private", for you eyes only ]
(3) Contact Name = Name that OTHER Users/Patrons see displayed for you...
..... [ Always "Public" ]
(4) Display Name = Name that is Displayed, on YOUR pages/screens - for You ONLY,
..... for your 'FamilySearch' Account ... [ Always "Private", for your eyes only ]
Whereby ...
Currently, in the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum ...
It is, Our "Contact Name", that is being "Displayed", for OTHER Users/Patrons to 'see''.
As, currently (after the SERVIOUS "Security" Breach was addressed/fixed), for Me, it is My "Contact Name" that appears (ie. is being "Displayed") for OTHER Users/Patrons to 'see''.
IF, you are NOT 'seeing' what I am 'seeing'; THEN, there might be ANOTHER Problem/Issue.
Just my thoughts.

My comment may seem rather trivial, but to those of us experiencing it not so
The most recent place its head popped up was Keepsakes. These are great, unless you have a two syllable given name such a mine...La Kay. When written correctly the name has a space-' La (space) Kay. My name is NOT "La" nor is it "Kay"...it is La Kay.
Unless there is a trick of which I am unaware, there is not way for me to print these Keepsake and have my name be accurate.
Is there a way to accommodate those of us with this situation?

This could be addressed with a convention of invisible braces. You enter, say, {La Kay} or La~Kay and that tells the software to handle the two words as one. The name would be displayed without the formatting.
The TeX and LaTeX typesetting systems have used ~ this way for about 40 years now.

Brett, Thanks for your answer. Very good clarification. I hope people will stop calling the name we see in the Community a "username." We should all call it the "Community Contact Name." Thanks!

FYI
I am sorry to be a 'nudge' ...
Point of clarification ...
It is NOT the "People" (ie. the Users/Patrons) who are 'calling' it a "Username" ...
Unfortunately ...
It IS the "System" (ie. in this case, the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum) ITSELF that is 'calling' (ie. referencing) is as OUR "Username" ...
Examples ...
That is something that I referenced (and, asked to be CORRECTED) [ ie. "Contact Name"; as opposed to, "User Name" ... ] way back during "Testing" in the (later) Development stages of the NEW Platform of the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, with regard to the SERVIOUS "Security" Breach ...
Unfortunately ...
That which I referenced (and, asked to be CORRECTED) was either, 'missed'; or, 'glossed over' (and, disregarded); or, may be, is STILL on the "List" of ever increasing priorities for things that NEED fixing/addressing, in this NEW Platform of the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
Just another thought ...
