How to make a probate record a death source?

I found some probate records that prove a person in my tree died in 1844 or 1845. The records sit in my whole group of sources. How do I attach them as specific sources for death?

If this is a probate record found on Family Tree, we can use the source linker. Instructions may be found in this help center article: How do I attach a historical record to a person in Family Tree?

If this probate record is a source from a memory (the image of the probate record), or the probate record is found on another website, we can use this help center article: How do I add an outside source to Family Tree?

Of course, if the "whole group of sources" is the source box, we suggest using the instructions in this help center article: How do I attach source from Source Box?

To associate a source with a specific piece of vital information, we use the source tagging feature. Instructions may be found in this help center article: How do I tag a source in Family Tree to a specific piece of information?

We hope this helps answer the question. If it has not, please add a comment to the conversation.

Moving this to Family Tree - it seems to fit better there.

@CWyethB when posting outside sources in Family Tree may I suggest a friendly reminder/heads-up to remember that there could be copyright stipulations. Clicking on the link below provides a complete answer on this subject

To link a source specifically to a vital event, for example death, add the source & tag it to the event or fact.

You can add an image from an unindexed microfilm or an unindexed record collection in FamilySearch (records that currently do not have the option to search for your specific ancestor) as a source in Family Tree.

Other sources can be used as well.
