I need help with my research report.
I am doing a research report for a client and they want me to find out if they have Italian ancestors. Their family is from Switzerland. I went back five or six generations on the line that they wanted me to and was unable to find any Italian ancestry. I started the report but I'm unsure of how far I need to show on the report and how to prove that there are no ancestors that are Italian.
Thanks,
Justin Bingham

This is not provable by historical record. The historical record is only a paper trail and at its best it only approximates biological ancestry.
Historical records depart from biology due to unrecorded adoptions, "not paternity expected" events, forged documents, poor documents, absence of documents, errors by researchers, and probably other causes.
