While indexing US-Kansas Naturlization records...
While indexing US-Kansas Naturalization Records, the batch contains 4 images. If image 1 is page 1 of the application and image 2 is page 2 of the application can information on page 2 be used to complete indexing of page 1 and visa versa? or does each image stand alone?
Similar I had another batch where image 1 was actually page 2 of the application. There is an affidavit of loyalty, which is an indexable form, it has a signature and a date. Do I index that image? I believe yes. But do I access any of the data on page 1 of the application?
The more I type the more my inclination is for each image to stand alone.

Usually the project instructions in the section called "What to remember about this project" gives instructions about what to do when an entry spans two images. Other times the instructions say what should be indexed and what should not be indexed. It is hard to give an answer unless we can have a share batch code to look up the instructions specific to that project. You could add a comment with the code.

- This is one of those situations where the images are not visible in share batch mode, so I can't be specific. But, looking at the project instructions in the "What to Index" section, there are examples of how to index 2 examples of How to index a naturalization card -- How to index a Declaration of Intention and an example for each of the following: How to index a Declaration of Intention Preliminary Form --How to index a Petition for Naturalization -- and How to index an Oath of Allegiance, So it definitely looks like each should be indexed separately.
- In bullet point 3 of What to Remember about this Project is says: "If a record does not include a name for the primary person, you should still index the record, marking the primary name fields blank and indexing other names, such as name of the spouse, along with any other fields that are present on the record." This is a reminder to index only what you see.
- The field helps that come up when you click on the purple question mark by the field also give further instructions.
- You can be confident when following the specific project instructions and field helps. They are very clear when they want you to combine information from two images on one entry and give examples that actually say "How to index a ______ record which spans 2 images" or "3 images".
