Updating computers in FHC on Premium Sites

I went to the FHC last week to do the by-weekly update on the premium channels. I got a message that the premium channels were down for 90 days.

  1. Where would I have heard about this coming, and what is the month they will be up?
  2. Also, on one of my machines, there is no "Administrator" choice for logging in.
  3. Lastly, I am not getting the notifications in my email of this Tech site.

@Charmiller2 An email was sent out to the consultants over the centers which should have notified them of this change. Also another great resource to get updates on centers is to join the community group for consultants.

They may be able to help with some of your other questions.

As mentioned above, emails were sent to the FHC email addresses for each center. The Family History Center Portal became unavailable on June 2, 2021. Emails were sent out sometime during the week prior.

    2. Also, on one of my machines, there is no "Administrator" choice for logging in.

This problem should resolve automatically through BigFix (Tivoli) updates. Please make sure that the computers are turned off after usage. Each time a FHC computer is turned on, FamilySearch uses BigFix to send out antivirus protection and update software. It may take a few power on cycles for the updates to be completed.

    3. Lastly, I am not getting the notifications in my email of this Tech site.

The Family History Center Technical Support (North America) group in the community does not send out emails.

I'm a consultant over a Family History Center and did not receive an e-mail about it. I learned about it on Facebook and then attended the monthly tech meeting to learn more about it. I have searched all my e-mails that I receive from FamilySearch (the center e-mail and personal e-mail), the spam folder, etc., and no message was received through official e-mail.

    Sister Rebecca Christensen,

It appears that from the information provided by others that you should have received an e-mail.

Suggest you check the center's email address by sending an e-mail to it.

You are listed in CDOL.LDS.org as a Temple and Family History Consultant--Family History Center.

In the Lawrence Kansas Family History Center (3334503).

    Center Email address: KS_Lawrence@familyhistorymail.org

Note: it's suggested that center staff should update the Center Hours and Center Closures.

See the Help Center and the Community pages for suggestions.
