What has happened to my family?
I have tried searching for my family members using the Find feature but they do not come up. I have people missing from my tree but when I enter the ID numbers that my mother has given me, I get a message saying “No results found”.

Are you searching for living persons? If you are using ID numbers from you mother for living persons and trying to find them, that would make sense.
Finding living people in Family Tree
"The Find feature does not bring up a living person in a search by name or by ID number. The only exception is for when you use an ID number to search for a living-person record that you have created. If you do not know the ID number for a living person you added to Family Tree, here are a couple of options to find him or her:
If you know where to find the person in the tree, navigate to the person.
Search for a close deceased relative in the tree. Then navigate to the person you want to find."
To find the full article, click on the "?" mark in the upper right of this web page, in the lower left of the pop up, click on "Help Center", in the search key in: "living", you should get a result: Who can see my living relatives in Family Tree?

If you cannot find your family members using the number supplied by your mother, it is because they still living people. The records of living people are only searchable to the person who added them. Family Tree protects the privacy of living people by putting their records in the contributor's private space and restricting who can see the private space.
Multiple users can enter a record for the same living person into their own private space.
• Each record has a different ID number.
• Each record is visible only to the user who entered it.
• When you change a record in your private space, it does not change the same person's record in another user's private space.
After a person dies, family members need to make all separate records in their private spaces’ public (add the date of death) and then merge them.
