Access NY prison records?
I have worked familysearch, wiki, ancestry.com and many other places trying to locate info for a relative who was born in Queens in 1909. So in desperation I thought that maybe there would be someone from your area that might know local records that I cannot seem to find.
The guy is Frederick Philip Schoenhardt. His Familysearch locator is GCNM-12S. I have a tree for him...know his parents and upward....know about his mother's second marriage to a Vito Demarzo and Fred growing up as though he was Italian, I would say. I know he was sent to SingSing for murder. I have found clippings and some are attached to his memories.
I have found him on an inmate record for SingSing but do not know what happened to him after he was released in 1942. I found a last article dated later which suggests he went back to prison but where and how long and what happened next? I have found NO death record for him...or SS record. It is a small mystery, but one I would like to find.
The second assist has to do with the Lutheran Cemetery in your area. I phoned them over a week ago and they had Schoenhard names that I needed. I sent an email as requested, but no response yet. I believe Frederick's father, his Grandfather and great grandmother mother may be buried there. Her name was Anna Barbara Christ Schoenhardt and was the one to come to America in 1859 with three of her children. There was only the one son, but also two daughters, but I do not know the married names for them, either , to help. I guess the question is....is this the right place to send my questions?
