What is the new box next to the bookmark?

This morning I noticed a new little feature in Community. Next to a Discussion/Question title I see not only the bookmark but also a little box that you can check. What does this do? It isn't in the training. I know that we are supposed to see a gear in the future so we may do things like change a discussion to a question or visa versa or add a Tag. I'm not sure what the little check mark box is going to do.

I see that this question was asked by someone else earlier but I cannot delete this post. That is another feature that needs to be available. We should be able to delete our own posts.

If you click on the gear you can delete your discussion.

@886EZL That box is a selection marker. It allows you to select more than one comment then allows you to do a bulk action. Such as delete or move the group of comments rather than using the gear on each individually.

Thank you, IdahoSusieQ. I am also still wondering what the little box is for.

@886EZL I clicked in the little box to see if anything obvious happened. It seems to be a way to select comments within a discussion. When I did it, I saw a message that I had selected 1 comment (or 2 comments when I clicked it up where you posted your original question). Then I had a couple of actions I could take. I assume those actions are going to depend on your role in Community. That said, it is not obvious how the box differs from the gear icon, which also lets you do various things, depending on your role.
