Erasing an entry

As I understand the situation - Someone has added a person to one of your ancestors that is incorrect.
If this has to do with a relationship, the following could be helpful. The same process applies to either an incorrect spouse or child.
An incorrect relationship can be removed from the person it is connected to by clicking on the pencil to the right of the name and choose remove - remember to put a reason for doing this.
After you have removed the incorrect person from the relationship; then you add the correct one.
The links will provide added help and information.

Vital information may also be edited (corrected) , The method varies depending if you are using a computer or a mobile device . These instructions are for both.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly User/Patron ...
But ...
That said ...
I like to help/assist where I can ...
When you say that "... an entry made by a volunteer that is wrong ..."
Provided that you are referring to "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...
Do you mean, either,
(1) a 'Place' Name that was NOT "Standardised"; and, since "Standardised" through the "Volunteer Project";
or,
(2) just ANY Record (Field) that was "Changed" by ANOTHER User/Patrons
Whereas ...
IF, you are referring to, the 'Transcription', in a "Indexed" Record, found in the "Search" Part of 'FamilySearch'; THEN, that is another matter entirely.
Please advise.

In Family Tree, everything can be edited by anyone. So you should be able to easily correct this yourself. If you can't see the proper Edit button or Icon just post more information about where and what is wrong and someone will be able to give directions.
