First time submitting a question. Hope it is done right.
Working on South Australia School Admission Registers. In the column for parent or guardian, I don't know how to answer on lines 3-6. The images shows Junior Red Cross in place of surname and given name. Appreciate any help. Thank you, Vickie

This reminds me of the year we had loads of obituaries to index and I was a Support missionary answering the phones. People would ask about indexing the pets listed in the obituaries and we would explain that since no one is going to look for that pet as an ancestor, to link to them and get their temple work done, that we wouldn't need to index the animals. I think the answer will be the same for the Jr. Red Cross. That's not a person and no one will need to link their family to that non-profit group and we won't be doing temple work for them.

Since “Junior Red Cross” is not the name of a parent or guardian, please have the patron mark these fields <blank>. The Field Help for Parent or Guardian Surname and Given Names fields states in the final paragraph that if the name is not recorded, the indexer should press Ctrl+B to mark the field <blank>.
What to Remember about This Project, 2nd bullet point, indicates that the index and links to digital images will be freely accessible online to the general public when the collection is published. A researcher, seeking information about these children, will see this notation on the record and can make their own determination.

How interesting!
Since that is not the name of a person, you would blank those 2 fields. I love the keyboard shortcut for Windows: Ctrl + B.

Great question.
Since the guardian of these children is Junior Red Cross, and we don't have direction on how to index that situation, this question has been posted in department where project leaders can give us more info and direction.
Please hold onto this batch until you hear from us. (Do not submit it yet, you can exit the batch and go back to your web indexing initial page by clicking on the black thick arrow going left)

Thank you. It makes sense. It would be nice to have a project instruction with a remark on this situation.
