Add Translate feature
I would love to see a language translate feature added to Family Search. I get messages in Danish and usually copy and paste into Google Translate to figure out what the message says. It would be wonderful to have a translate feature not just for messages from other users, but for entries on the Detail page as well.

I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
I 'hear' what you are saying/suggesting ...
And, I understand ...
A reasonable idea/suggestion ...
But ...
That said ...
Personally, I DO NOT want 'FamilySearch' to 'squander' its, valuable; and, limited, resources, on the inclusion of a language translation feature/function/facility.
Please be aware that, there are, MANY; Many; many, competing priorities, in the "Family Tree" Part (and, the OTHER Parts) of 'FamilySearch'; and, more/most importantly, there is VERY 'Limited" Resources (eg. Funds) available to 'FamilySearch'.
I would rather that 'FamilySearch' use its, valuable; and, limited, resources, wisely, by just trying to concentrate/work on the MANY; Many; many, competing priorities, in the "Family Tree" Part (and, the OTHER Parts) of 'FamilySearch'
As you reference ...
Especially, as there is ALEADY the FREELY available 'Google' "Translate" (and, the like).
I use 'Google' "Translate" (and, the like) to, both, "Translate"; and, respond, to posts in the very "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
And ...
'Yes' ...
It is time consuming; but, NOT onerous.
Plus, 'FamilySearch' already has (Research) "Wiki" pages, to , both, assist with "Translation"; and, help with "Indexing".
Again ...
I am sorry ...
'FamilySearch' should NOT 'squander' its, valuable; and, limited, resources, on the inclusion of a language translation feature/function/facility.
Just my thoughts.

Hi JensenKarla
If you use Google Translate you only need to right click in the page you are looking at, and in the window that opens click on "Translate to English". Google is there at your finger tips; there is no reason for FamilySearch to add a translator button at this time.
I hope that we understood and provided information that answers your question. Thank you for using Community and we hope this link or the Help Centre provides the answers you seek.

yeh - when Google Translate has done such a good job
I dont necessarily see it a wise use of very limited FS resources to duplicate their work.

For me it is clumsy on a mobile device (e.g. iPad) to do translations using Google translate, which is why I strongly support an inline translation feature. It’s a “selfish” thing. It would make reading and responding to Q&A message streams in mixed languages much easier and less choppy. I do most of my Q&A interactions on my iPad (or iPhone) and almost all of my Indexing and Reviewing on my Desktop PC, where, I agree that it isn’t much of a hassle to do the translations. But that not where I need the feature.
My main interest is Indexing and Reviewing and helping others to become more proficient at it, while improving myself So my number one priority is certainly improving the Web Indexing program, but a close second is enhancing the only vehicle we currently have for improving the quality and efficiency of the Indexing effort - the Indexing Q&A “site.” It provides the only broad opportunity for interactions between more experienced and less experienced Indexers and Reviewers in the FS Community . Perhaps if we are ever provided with a good, “acceptable”, probably opt-in feedback procedure within the Web Indexing program that will allow new Indexers to learn, in situ, in near-realtime from their mistakes, then improvements to the FS Community Q&A will be less important.

I 'hear' what you are saying ...
And, I know the, help; and, assistance, you were in the (former) 'Group' being "Indexing Chat", NOW, gone ...
Whereas ...
I DO NOT use "Mobile" Devices for any SERIOUS work, in either, "Family Tree"; or, the "Community.Search" Forum.
I found it IMPOSSIBLE to do the work PROPERLY on "Mobile" Devices, in either, "Family Tree"; or, the "Community.Search" Forum.
And ...
As, there are ALREADY, adequate "External" ALTERNATIVES, with ALL the many competing priorities, in the "Family Tree" Part (and, the OTHER Parts) of 'FamilySearch', that NEED addressing/fixing, I just DO NOT want 'FamilySearch' to to 'squander' its, valuable; and, limited, resources, on the inclusion of a language translation feature/function/facility.
Just my thoughts.

Fair enough, Brett. I actually feel the same way about the allocation of resources, and about where I do my "serious" computer work.
However, to be fair to the iPads and other non-Windows and non-Mac mobile devices of the world, I thought that one of the main reasons for going to a web-based Indexing program from a very nice feature-rich desktop version was to allow mobile devices to be used for Indexing and Reviewing. It just seems ironic.
