How do I post ?

My surname is County when I enter the surname County it brings up all the County's in Ireland & USA etc

eg James County James is a County in USA even putting in bmd dates still happens

hence hit a brick wall James County & Catherine Mc Carthy married in Adelaide SA . moved to Geelong Chilwell in Victoria & settled there. have all info onwards.

No one knows how they arrived here 1858-1859 been researching for 40 years they came from Tipperary Ireland. born in 1831-1834 ? around

Holycross, Thurles, Stradavohover, died in 1868 Mary County & Thomas County no grave found

Search cemeteries, in Tipperary, and surrounding areas no results also search ships, passengers, indexes, etc..

Hope you can help to solve 40 year mystery

Hi, it looks like you are having trouble searching for the surname, County. Not sure how you are searching the historical records for James County and Catherine McCarthy.

I tried searching the FamilySearch historical records using the Names of the couple above; and, under "Search with a life event," I clicked Any and entered "Australia" in the "Any Place" search box. You can see my Search Results by clicking here. I seem to have gotten reasonable results; noting that some results appear to match your information fairly closely.

To search the historical records, as I have done, simply sign into FamilySearch and click Search and then, in the drop down menu that appears, select Records. When you've entered the information that you want to include in your search, click Search.

Along the way, you'll want to click on the circled "?" icon for Suggested Topics, and that will be helpful to you in your search. One topic that may appear is, "What are best practices and tips for searching Historical Records?" You may find this particularly helpful, and can read it by simply clicking the title.

So, this provides at least one way to search the historical records that should work for you. Hope it helps.

Thank you Mike I will try this helpful information its a mystery maybe they came under another name its seems strange that both of them arrived here without a trace of how they got here ?? James sister arrived here as Mary Count thanks again appreciate your help.
