And make sure you record the ID numbers for someone in the family...otherwise you'll have to use the Find feature to find them later. When they're not related, they don't show automatically.

You can add individuals who are not connected to your family line.

.. the article is lightly outdated und mixes living and dead ... In the meantime we do have "that statistics and other stuff section" in the tree where you do find all the living profiles for reviewing later and also the profiles you ever touched ... you can even filter them by name etc.
More important (as I feel) is at least one good source to (load up into the memories and) connect ..
.. and I would only use it with deceased people ..

I never felt the necessity to record ID-Numbers of those well documented profiles that are not part of my own ancestry ..

There is ..
But be sure you have a good source with more information than just the name of just one person to not create duplicates and to add the source to those newly created persons data ..
Hopefully you´re able to "read" german pictures ..
