I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
I think that, I 'hear' and 'understand' what you are 'saying' ...
But ...
That said ...
The 'Tool(s)' for 'Opening' Communications between Users/Patrons searching for Common Ancestors are ALREADY there in 'FamilySearch' ... in more ways than one.
Just quickly ...
Just some ...
.
Within "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' itself ...
"Collaboration" ... between User/Patrons ... is a very MPORTANT Feature of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
In the "Collaborate" 'Tab' on the "Person/Details" page/screen for an individual/person there is "Discussions".
"Discussions" have been around in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' for a long time ...
In fact, one might call, "Discussions", in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', a form of "Message Board".
"User Messaging" in 'FamilySearch' is another form of "Message Board".
One can 'Send' a 'Message', directly to one or more Users/Patrons, in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', about one's Ancestors.
One just needs, to select the "Contact Name", of a User/Patron, who has ALSO "Contributed" (in some way), to one's Ancestors.
As such ...
Can I humbly suggest that ...
IF, you have not already; THEN, use, both, "Collaboration" (eg. "Discussions); and, "User Messaging", in 'FamilySearch', as a form of "Message Board".
.
And, within the "Community" of 'FamilySearch' Users/Patrons ...
This, the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, IS also a form of "Message Board" for 'FamilySearch' ...
Very basically and briefly ...
The the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum is now broken into THREE (x3) distinct "Sections" ...
(1) Q and A ... ( ie. "Questions' and 'Answers' )
Ask a 'Question''; and, hopefully get an 'Answer' or two ...
What you might call a, come and go as you please section ...
(2) Groups
DIFFERENT Groups, of like minded Users/Patrons, with similar interests ...
What you might call, come and join in, stay a while section ...
▬ Just watch and learn ...
▬ Or, also ask a 'Question''; and, hopefully get an 'Answer' or two ...
(3) Ideas
[ Where YOU have posted this 'Question' of yours ... ]
A link/connection for 'Feedback' to 'FamilySearch' from Users/Patrons ...
Where Users/Patrons can:
▬ Notify of a particular Problem/Issue; or,
▬ Suggest possible enhancements; or,
▬ BASICALLY, 'Feedback' to 'FamilySearch'.
As such ...
Can I humbly suggest the following:
▬ Check-out the 'Groups'; and, 'see' if there is a 'Group' or two that interests you.
..... Join a/the 'Group(s)'; then, either, watch and learn; or, ask 'Questions' ...
▬ Whereas ... IF, you do not want to join any of the 'Groups'; THEN, just ask a 'Question' in "Q and A" ...
I know that this is NOT the 'Message Board" that you envisaged; but, I hope this gives you some perspective.
Just my thoughts.

Hi, I've just discovered that someone (namesless for now..) had been posting incorrect inforamtion about my aunt, who was Not born in Illinois, she was born in Ontario.. Canada. How do I get this person to correct errata if she doesn't answer my messages. What kind of "research" is this? I did send her a link to a personal family page, for which I told her that everything on that page was copywritten so she doesn't take childhood picutres of my aunt and post them to her "Born in Illiois" incorrect data. The images were scanned from the original photos or negatives - or just scanning little medaliions with family photos in them, and they are my copyright. I(t's not that I don't think people in the tree should have them as relations but.. I've had too many people just "take them", and I find them later, bec ause I wasn't asked. She also removed my Aunt from my tree and I had to restore her!!!!! What is this??? someone can just waltz in? My aunt was born in Canada, went to Julliard and then in interior design, but she Never gave up her Canadian citizenship. Actually, let's take it to a site - and official NHS site. How Dare people!!! it's also just.. Unprofessional. Aunt Sheila was Not Born in the States - and never Lived in Illinois either. She lived in NYC from the 30's to her DoD. https://www.glanmore.ca/en/explore-and-learn/original-residents.aspx#:~:text=From%20left%20to%20right%3A%20Harriet,Sheila%20were%20raised%20at%20Glanmore.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum ...
I am just a 'lowly' User/Patron ...
And, I 'hear' and 'understand what you are 'saying' ...
You are not alone ...
Most of us have ... been there, done that ... and, still do ...
And, your experiences are 'disheartening', to say the least ...
But ...
That said ...
For starters ...
Let me reiterate what I ALREADY proffered above ...
Unfortunately, MOST new (and, some old) Users/Patrons DO NOT understand the basic 'nature' and 'premise' of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', when they join in.
Please let me explain ...
We do not have our OWN "Tree" in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
We ONLY have "Branches" (ie. Ancestral" lines), that are interconnected, in this SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us, that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is NOT like 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes (eg, the OLD, now no longer supported, "PAF"; or, "Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
We DO NOT have "Private"/"Personal" 'Trees' in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' like other 'On-Line' "Websites"; and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes.
We do not even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, the "Deceased" individuals/persons in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
And, MOST importantly ...
In fact, we DO NOT even, own; or, manage; and, are NOT even responsible for, OUR Own (Immediate) "Deceased" Ancestors/Family/Relatives in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is built on a "Open Edit" Platform - hence, why any registered User/Patron can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
I know that this does not help; but, I hope that is gives you some perspective.
Just my thoughts.

Furthermore ...
Addressing your 'Questions' ...
How do I get this person to correct errata if she doesn't answer my messages?
IF, the Other User/Patron DOES NOT respond to your 'Messages' (and/or, 'E-mails'); THEN, all that you can do is that you will just have to 'Monitor' the 'Situation'; and, you youself MAKE the NECESSARY "Changes"/"Corrections".
One has to just KEEPING going in a fixing/addressing any problems/issues that you are aware of.
One may need to "Follow", some of the individuals/persons, in one's "Ancestral" Lines, in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
We can "Follow" up to x4000 individuals/persons, at any given time.
We can "Check" the "List" of those that one is "Following" on a 'Daily' basis.
That how one keeps on top of it ... I "Check" my "List" of those that I am "Following" DAILY.
[ At least, once; but, sometimes more, a day ... ]
What kind of "research" is this?
THEIR Own kind of "Research" ...
Some people like to ... 'look at life through rose coloured glasses' ...
Some people even like to ... 'Whitewash' History ...
Despite, history being, it is, what it was ...
Some people just DO NOT want to know ...
What is this??? someone can just waltz in?
Short Answer: Unfortunately, 'Yes', they can ...
That is the basic 'nature' and 'premise' of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...
A SINGLE "One" World "Tree", for all of us ...
Built on a "Open Edit" Platform ...
Hence, why ANY registered User/Patron can "Edit" (ie. Add, Delete; and/or, Change) ANY "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
How Dare people!!! it's also just.. Unprofessional
They dare; BECAUSE, they CAN; and, 'No', it is NOT unprofessional.
Users/Patrons of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' are NOT professional "Genealogists"; and, the majority DO NOT claim to be so.
Now ...
That said ...
You need to be aware of a few things ...
."Family Tree" (and, it predecessor/forerunner "New.FamilySearch") of 'FamilySearch' was ORIGINALLY "Created", by the Church, for the Use of Members of the Church, to follow their beliefs/precepts.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' has subsequently been made available to ALL.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is a FREE Website.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is NOT a "Commercail" (ie. "Paid"/"Subscription") Website.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is NO "Substitute" for MAINTAINING one's OWN "Private"/"Personal" Database(s) of one's "Ancestral" Lines.
MANY User/Patrons of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' MAINTAIN their OWN "Private"/"Personal" Database(s) of their "Ancestral" Lines.
IF, you DO NOT already ...
There are "Third Party" Applications that are "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' can be found in the "Solutions Gallery" of 'FamilySearch'.
Here is a direct link to the "Solutions Gallery" of 'FamilySearch':
https://partners.familysearch.org/solutionsgallery/s/
And, here is the direct link to the "Family Tree Management programmes" themselves:
https://partners.familysearch.org/solutionsgallery/s/list?category=family_tree_management
"Third Party" Applications that are "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' include, BOTH, 'On-Line' "Websites" (eg. "Ancestry_com"; or "MyHeritage_com"; or, the like); and/or, 'standalone' personal (computer) programmes ("Ancestral Quest"; or, the like).
Some of the "Third Party" Applications that are "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' have, BOTH, a Basic FREE version; and/or, a Premium PIAD (ie. "Subscription") version, the latter just having more 'Bells and Whistles'. The Basic FREE version is sufficient for most, the average, User/Patron. Whereas, the Premium PAID (ie. "Subscription") version is the choice of most experienced and 'power' Users/Patrons.
You can use ONE or MORE than one, of the the "Third Party" Applications, the choice is yours.
Most of the "Third Party" Applications that are "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' that are "Family Tree Management programmes, have INTERFACES that work/connect (directly) with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' that can, "Download"; and, "Upload" (ie. "Transfer", both, Data; and, individuals/persons) between, the "Third Party" Application; and, "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
Finally ...
NONE of us are PERFECT ...
We ALL make MISTAKES ...
[ Some bigger than others ... ]
The old proverb is apt here ...
'You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink' ...
As a Programmer once said to me ...
You CANNOT make a "System" FOOLPROOF; because, Fools are so ingenious ...
Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch'
How can I prevent other people from making inaccurate changes to Family Tree?
How do I report abuse, spam, inappropriate memories, and other content?
How do I follow or unfollow a person in Family Tree?
https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/can-i-follow-an-individual-in-family-tree
How do I view all the people in Family Tree I am following?
https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-view-all-the-records-i-am-watching
Again, I know that this does not help; but, I hope that is gives you some further insight and perspective.
Just my thoughts.
