There is so much more info on the birth record, like age and birth places of parents. Is there anyway to add this info, so it is available after indexing?

We only index the fields that are on the entry form. There is no way to add any other information. It is very valuable to index the basic fields so that we create a searchable index. Once the researcher finds the image, they will see the other valuable information on the record.

there should be a way to add fields, they could be flagged as suggestions and moderators could choose to formalize expanded entry fields

    documents often have

relatives, this info seems super easy to include and super helpful, and incredibly dificult to do afterwards, eg indexer could spend %20 more time to enter 5 names and fill out an entire family, but if not done during index, the searcher would have to sift through hundreds of documents to find which ones mention these relatives as a side note

    siblings, parents, children,

    locations

    emploment

    residence

    port of entry

    Dates

    witnesses

    document id numbers

The owners of the records determine what they want in the indexes.
