Temple - Ordinances Ready - Male or Female
I am the only member in my direct family (I am male) and I can access Temple/Ordinances Ready (male) for my male ancestors, BUT family Search does not let me see the female ordinances ready.
If I could access the Temple/Ordinances Ready (female) then I could print temple name cards and ask some of the sisters in my ward to do the work for my female relatives.
I think that setting an option button (male or female) on Temple/Ordinance Ready should be fairly straight forward since a flag has been set to only allow me to see male ordinances ready. If there was an option to change the flag to female or male, then it would be a lot easier for me to get temple work done for my female ancestors.
thank you,
Mike Haley

If you have researched your relatives and added people to the Tree or found those in the Tree that may need ordinances, you can reserve these individuals to your temple reservation list. From your reservation list, you can print male and female temple ordinance cards. If you have female relatives you have reserved, just print them from the reservation list and share them with a friend to do.
Ordinances Ready is meant to pull needed ordinances for the sex of the logged in user for an immediate temple visit.

FYI
"OrdinancesReady" is JUST a, quick; and, easy, way to get "Temple" Work, when one is going to the "Temple", that day or the next; but, one DOES NOT have any Work readily at hand.
"OrdinancesReady" is certainly NO substitute for doing the proper research, of obtaining "Temple" Work, in advance, of going to the "Temple".
As 'Amy' has already proffered ...
The reason, that we ONLY get "Temple" Work, for people, of the SAME "Gender", as ourselves, is a DESIGN Feature of "OrdinancesReady".
Although, I totally understand your circumstances/situation (as, I myself, am a "Convert") ...
I would humbly suggest that, your request, may not be considered as appropriate, in view of the intended Design.
Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':
How do I find family names for the temple with Ordinances Ready?
Where it states, among other things;
Quote
------------------
Ordinances Ready is designed to provide family name cards for the person signed in to the website or the Family Tree app. For example, if you are female, it only searches for ancestors who are likewise female so that you can perform their ordinances.

Ordinances Ready finds names for you that are your **** (that is, male names for male users and female names for female users).

I know that this does not help; but, I hope this gives you some perspective.

While it may be frustrating not to be able to use Ordinances Ready to find ordinances that need to be done for someone of the opposite gender, researching and adding our ancestors allows us to request their ordinances no matter what their gender may be.
As already shared, Ordinances Ready is not to replace research, adding names, and reserving ordinances in Family Tree. It is a quick way to find specific ordinances for a specific temple trip.
How wonderful, @Michael P Haley that you have the blessing of opening the Prison Doors for your deceased ancestors through your diligent efforts. The following knowledge article will provide several ways to find names for your Ward Family members who wish to help you expand temple service.

Well, with limited access to the temple, and names shared with the temple, it would be nice to allow my wife to do initiatories at the same appointment time. So, (business rule) appointments should cause a change in the (business rules) OrdinancesReady.

There is NOTHING stopping, your Wife, from doing "Initiatories", during the same visit to the Temple.
As, both, you; and, your Wife, can ALREADY utilise, your respective, ("Temple") "Reservation" Lists, to obtain the "Temple' Work, necessary for any forthcoming "Temple" Visit (ie. even those by "Appointment").
As suggested above ...
"OrdinancesReady" is JUST a, quick; and, easy, way to get "Temple" Work, when one is going to the "Temple", that day or the next; BUT, one DOES NOT have any Work readily at hand.
"OrdinancesReady" is certainly NO substitute for doing the proper research, of obtaining "Temple" Work, in advance, of going to the "Temple" [ie. through one's OWN ("Temple") "Reservation" Lists].
"OrdinancesReady" DOES NOT need to "Change", due to the current situation, caused by the current COVID-19 Pandemic; and, the necessity of requiring "Appointments", to visit "Temples".
We are lucky that SOME "Temples", are even OPEN; and, available for doing "Temple' Work, in the current pandemic, no matter how limited.
Just my thoughts.

ps: IF, one has "Share[d] with the Temple System"; THEN, one can STIIL "Request", that "Temple" Work to undertake, that Work; provided, such has NOT already been "Printed", by a "Temple", in preparation to undertake that Work, in that particular "Temple".
