Lines don't match up correctly on death record
I am indexing US, Virginia—Death Records, 1853–1900[M37R-1BP]. I got to line 24 and clearly the person who copied the information lost track of what line he was on because the parents and spouses don't match up with the deceased. I have a 99 year old woman whose death was reported by her father, and a 4 month old child that has a husband. I can tell what happened but since we're supposed to index the document in the order it was recorded, what do I do?

Since 20 - 24 are all slaves owned by the same man, and none have parents listed.
On entry 25, I would index the 99 year old woman's (Sarah Thompson) parents as George and Mary Stanley and her husband Joshua Thompson was the one who reported her death.
Entry 26 is obviously Martha Wheiley, a 3 day old female, the parents are Isaiah and Permilia Wheiley
Entry 27 is an un-named 4 month old male, whose parents are Elisha and Nancy Thompson
And so on.
Sometimes we must use common sense and our best judgement.

That was what I thought I should do but didn't know for sure. Thank you!
