Louisiana Cemetery Inscription question

I have a question regarding how to index the transcription cards. The instructions say to index all names. Do they mean only deceased persons listed on the card or all people? What about parents and children that are listed?

Example:

Dorothee Smith (deceased)

Wife of Vincent Smith

Daughter of Robert Jones and Merilee Franklin Jones

Parent of Charles Smith, Jr and Penny Smith Abernathy

I understand what to do with the deceased and spouse but what do I do about the parents and children? \

Thanks!

Hi Diane! It is always best to share the batch when you have a question so others can see exactly what you are seeing. To share a batch we either click on the third icon from the right and copy the link and/or batch code and then enter it with the question. Or you can copy and paste the URL address, or you can copy and the paste the title of the project with the batch code that follows.

I pulled up a batch and looking at the examples, I would say you only index Deceased and her husband in this case. If there is a card that has birth and death dates for all the people on the card, then you would create a record for each one of the deceased. With what you have presented, I would say you will ignore the parents' and children's names.
