What does the symbol mean in the following snip of East Prussian Records

I am wondering what the two d's with the stems crossed mean. These are East Prussian records for marriage. It may be a symbol for a payment of some sort, but I see it at lot and cannot find the answer nor how to describe it properly. It might be two letters in the Latin alphabet since the records are Latin/German combined, but I'm not sure what it means.
