Greetings- I am new to Family Search. Previously have used ancestry.com. I need to know how to search for German records. I was used to the leafs just popping in on ancestry. Now I think I have to go find a database? How do I do that? Thanks for any information for teaching an old dog new trick.

@CarolKeller3 There are several ways you can find German records on FamilySearch.

    1. If you have a tree in FamilyTree, you will see Record Hints on the top right of a person's profile page. These are the equivalent of the shaky leaf on Ancestry.com.
    2. You can use the Search menu at the top of FamilySearch. It has several options. Here are some Help Center articles that detail how to use the various search options. Several of them have links to additional articles at the bottom for more help.
