I can only find land records from the 1800's. I am not experienced enough for that hand writing. Why can't I find something else?

I believe you are probably looking under "Find a Project" which doesn't seem to be updated ever. Instead of clicking on that, click on Web Indexing and then Click on Find Batches. You can then refine the results of your search. For instance, you can limit the language to English and the Difficulty Level to Beginner and Intermediate (that should filter out a few of the difficult handwriting projects). I suggest checking out marriage, muster rolls, and naturalization projects for easier handwriting. Good luck!
